October 4-7, 2006 - ARCSI Convention
Chicago, IL October 4-7, 2006
Founder Deborah Sardone will promote the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation at this year's ARCSI National Convention in Chicago, IL. She hopes to pitch the concept of free cleanings for women undergoing treatment for cancer to it's membership which consists entirely of other maid service owners. ARCSI, which stands for Association of Residential Cleaning Services International, is a new organization formed to support business owners of residential cleaning services. Its membership has grown to over 700 in under four years with approximately 400 active members to date.
Deborah Sardone also serves on the board of directors for ARCSI, and has become a popular speaker within the membership. She chaired their Annual Executive Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA (May 2006) where she developed and introduced the association's first ever foundations-level bootcamp "Strengthening Your Fundamentals". The bootcamp was designed to offer basic strategies for maid service operations and was geared to the "newbie" as she calls them, but attracted both new and veteran maid service owners.
Debbie briefly shared her passion for the Cleaning For A Reason foundation during one of her workshops and was inspired by how many other maid service owners also had a passion to help women in need. Many owners shared how they, too offer free cleaning to women with cancer or other debilitating health issues.
"I want to share the vision of Cleaning For A Reason with other business owners" says Sardone. "Most are family owned businesses who want to give back to their communities and have given in the past without recognition or reward. They silently give up profits just to help another human being" says Sardone.

August 2006 - Local update on C4R
Lewisville, TX August 18, 2006
HOORAY! Attorney Robert Blakeney of Dallas, TX has agreed to file the 501c3 documents pro bono for Cleaning For A Reason in order to obtain tax exempt status from the IRS. This is a very expensive process and with out the generosity of his law firm we would not have the funds to pursue this next step for our foundation. We will, however, have to come up with the expenses his firm will incur such as filing fees, document processing, postage, etc. We hope to aquire enough funds over the coming months to continue the process without interruption or delays.
Donations are critical at this time as we seek to complete the process of obtaining this very important tax exempt status!
